The GTS-11240 crosses boundaries between LAN network and RF transmission. Using this module, two satellite DVB-S/DVB-S2 channels can be acquired and streamed over an IP port in multicast mode. Cable-connected devices in the LAN can play this stream using standard video software, thanks to the adopted RTP protocol. In addition, two common-interface slots allow to decode encrypted services acquired from both inputs.
IP output: services acquired from two satellite inputs are encapsulated in a RTP stream, compatible with most video-player software. Original SID and PID are kept, to allow service selection in the received stream.
Multicast stream: the device generates a single stream with a special destination (multicast adress), which is recognized by network switches and routed only to the nodes claiming the stream. This kind of transmission is band-width constant (independent from the number of receivers) and overload risk-free,not being a broadcast transmission (stream is relayed only to interested nodes in the network).
Easy programming: The GDS Configurator connected on the USB port is used to set which services to stream and to set transmission parameters in a quick way.
Modularity: The GTS-11240 is compatible with all GTS Series modules, to easily add a LAN output to a traditional CATV headend.
